Change or edit the ‘No rates for cart or destination’ notice at checkout
Learn how to edit the notice displayed to your Shopify customers when there are no shipping rates available to them.
If a customer tries to place an order for an item which doesn’t have any rates attached to it, they will see this default error message: “There are no shipping methods available for your cart or address”. If you’d like, you can change the wording of this message, and others.
How to edit the ‘No rates for cart or destination’ notice at checkout in Shopify
- From the Shopify dashboard, navigate to Online Store on the left side menu
- In the ‘Live theme’ section click the three dots next to Customize
- Click Edit default theme content
- Search for ‘rates’ in the search bar
- Click in the text field and edit the wording as you like
- Once you’ve made the change(s), make sure to click ‘Save’.
