Add a handling fee in Shopify

If you'd like to add a handling fee to your rate, you simply need to add this in when you are creating or editing a shipping rate.

How to add a handling fee

1. Go to your Shopify admin. For example: storename.myshopify.com

2. Click Settings, then Shipping and delivery.

3. Choose Manage rates for the appropriate shipping profile.

4. Scroll down to the 'Shipping to' section, and find the rates you wish to edit.

5. Expand the 3 dots to the right of the rate and choose Edit.

   

   NOTE: If you can't find the rate you'd like to adjust look for a 'Carrier and app rates' tab in the 'Shipping to' section. Australia Post Shipping rates can become hidden when there are Shopify default rates also.

6. Add your handling fee in the 'Handling fee' field. You can choose to apply this handling fee by percentage or by flat rate.

   NOTE: The number in the 'Handling fee' fields can also be a negative number, so you could use this field to apply a discount to your rate if you needed to.

   

7. Click Done and you’ve successfully added a handling fee to your rate. 

8. Make sure to save your changes, click the Save button to the right.
